Refreshed Owner’s Suite at Chelsea Park

This is not your mother’s take on traditional! Texture and pattern are stylishly combined in this full remodel of bed and on-suite bath. Gone is the corner tub which was never used, and in its place is a wonderful dressing table, complete with an LED lighted mirror. The homeowner was previously lacking in storage space and now has empty cabinets. The shower appears like the space has been enlarged, but it was the experienced NKBA designer’s bag of tracks that transformed the awkwardly shaped shower into a stunning asset.

The function and aesthetic of this remodel were dramatically increased through…

• Removing the existing, worn bedroom and closet carpet and drab builder-grade bathroom tiles and replacing with 410 square feet of durable luxury vinyl LVT and 110 square feet of matching 12” x 24” porcelain flooring
• Deconstructing the toilet area entrance to be as wide as possible and entirely accessible for a homeowner who is planning to age in place
• Withdrawing the garden tub and surround and lengthening the vanity to a luxurious 11 feet. Complete with a makeup vanity and five-foot-tall pantry towers, no rogue deodorant stick or electric toothbrush has an excuse to be left out
• Coordinating the two spaces with matching wallpapers and window treatments adorned in tranquil blues and greens
• The installation of a complete furniture package that invited warmth and refreshing feelings through plush rugs, soft lighting, studded upholstery, and matching bedroom storage
• The incorporation of a state-of-the-art Toto bidet washlet. Nothing says aging in place like a safety night light and self-cleaning features
• Generously illuminating all areas, from soft ambient table lamps and vanity sconces to dimmable overhead LEDs and ceiling fan.
• Installing custom shower glass that accommodates the angled entrance and repels pesky water spots
